Photoshoot Styling Fun
By: Fitness Photographer Sharon Lewis
If you are reading this on my blog that means I’ve figured out a title for it and managed to post it. As this blog slowly comes into it’s own, just know I am somehow managing to stumble through it. The only way I know how to stumble through is to just put it out there. I will simply type my stream of consciousness thinking and hope that the reader can somehow make sense of it. I’m trying to think about how to talk about the fashion shoot I did with stylist Leslie Castromayor @yo_its_leslie for her vintage clothing business @never.heardofher . I’ve had plenty of successful photography friends tell me to pick a genre and stick with it as to not confuse my audience and really hone in on my speciality. Fitness Photography is my genre and passion, I’m an artist first and foremost. I think like an artist, dream like an artist and create like an artist. Photography is the tool I choose to express my art. Therefore I tend to dabble in lots of things like fashion just because it’s fun. I am really proud of what Stylist, Leslie, and I managed to create! This shoot took 2 days to prep, style and shoot. It was fun working with a creative team and making beautiful work.
We shot these images at my house in Colorado. The day prior to the photoshoot, Leslie and I spent a lot of time composing the settings for each look. We organized the clothes based on what setting we wanted and went from there
On the day of the shoot we had my makeup gal Christina ( @christina_mariemakeup ) come out and create some fun funky fresh modern vintage looks. Leslie and I were in agreement that we wanted vintage style clothing but different to what you would expect to see for vintage.
